Born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, cut her musical eyeteeth singing in the Baptist choir. Her soul was captured by the raw sounds of hillbilly music when she first heard her granddaddy play clawhammer banjo and imitate a train whistle on his harmonica. Loves purple potatoes, pink telephones and persimmons, and prefers salt to sugar, our gal "BeeDee" is happiest sitting cross-legged in the middle of the floor with her 1957 Gibson guitar, any drink with salt on the rim, and Hank Williams on the hi-fi......unless of course, she's stompin' up and down and bangin' the twang for GiRL HOWDY!
When not belting it out and playing rhythm guitar with Girl Howdy, BeeDee plays scrubboard and sings harmony in the Rhode Island-based zydeco band Slippery Sneakers and plays guitar and sings in the New
Hampshire-based western swing band, The Westernaires. Formerly, BeeDee was a member of the rockabilly-influenced roots rock 'n' roll band,
American Roadhouse (guitar and vocals) and with two bluegrass bands, Lost Wages and Pioneer Valley Bluegrass, (upright stringbass & vocals).
